Holy Heroes! Holiday Club - Status report
There are some photos from Holy Heroes! in Images/EventPix
3.Aug - All done! We had the most fantastic time and the children did a superb job in the final show of passing on all they'd learnt to their parents. We had over a hundred people to the final tea and it was an excellent opportunity to get to know one another a bit better. My heartfelt thanks go to all the helpers from the various churches whose imagination, vision, creativity and sheer hard work made it all possible. See you next year! (provisional dates for next year are 5th-7th August 2008).
1.Aug - Day 2 complete, 53 children. Today we learnt about brave Queen Esther and made a cardboard feast and some cup cake crowns. The show is shaping up well for tomorrow.
31.Jul - Day 1 complete, 53 children. All had a great day and learnt all about David and Goliath. Took home rock cakes and decorated gingerbread people as well as a few swords and shields.

News reel
24.Jul - We've now closed admissions and we have about 55 children signed up (still awaiting one or two confirmations). Jim Bailey is now definitely unable to come and we continue to pray for his daughter Rebekah and the family in this difficult time. The Full Programme has been amended to take account of this.
19.Jul - Only 10 places left!
15.Jul - Good meeting with organisers and helpers. The full programme is now sorted with the backup theme of Esther for Wednesday in case Jim can't make it. Next meeting is to set up at 1400 on Monday 30.Jul. We decided the leaders should have badges and their CRB status and First Aid qualifications should be on the badges. We also agreed to limit the number of children to 60 to avoid overcrowding the kitchen.
11.Jul - Gill and Janet Anderson have passed the large posters out to the various churches.
10.Jul - Tom has confirmed he will sort the technical side. He will bring a more powerful PA system for the videos / CD music. We'll check on Sunday to make sure Jim Bailey's requirements are met.
10.Jul - Paul Wood has offered to arrange furniture moving before and after the event, and also look after the toilets.
9.Jul - Sent out an email to invite people to the 15 July meeting. Please pass the word around.
6.Jul - Jim Bailey has sent us some A3 posters. Please ask Gill if you would like one to display.
4.Jul - We're trying to arrange a meeting for the organisers and anyone else who'd be interested in planning. At the moment we're looking at 4pm on Sunday 15th at All Saints (during the BBQ)

2.Jul - Suggestions for the final tea: final cooking activity make things for tea, eg decorate fairy cakes; set up a few tables but mainly go for picnic style, hopefully outside; paper plates and cups except teacups for adults; ask helpers to bring a plate of something
